• Alter pitch to match:
  • sheet music key,

  • instrument tuning, or
  • vocal range.
• Remove lead instrument or voice for play-along or karaoke.

Non-Audacity solutions:

Free or low cost:

• Download song recordings and lyrics from the web.
• For sheet music, obtain MIDI printouts from the web.

Commercial:

• Purchase a TASCAM trainer to alter a recording for play-along or karaoke.
• Purchase a karaoke machine for karaoke/sing-along.
• Purchase Sheet Music with CD for multi-tempo recordings with sheet music.
• Purchase a microphone to improve audio quality when recording for self-evaluation.
