To experience the best operation of the Viral Tube toolbar, you will want to be prepared for things which will slow you down a bit at first.

A toolbar button might not function as anticipated.

One needs to approach a toolbar with some humility and patience.

We made some mistakes which seem to have confused the toolbar in our use of the “My Friends’ Videos” function, so that it went into a perennial reloading loop. If you try to use this button, we would advise saving any video you download, so that toolbar can complete its operation. We were unable to restore this function by reinstalling the toolbar.

The toolbar required a certain amount of patience to explore. Navigation was not always straightforward, raising such questions as: Should I use left click or right click? How long should I wait for a list to load? Am I in the wrong screen to turn this feature on?

We found that certain buttons in the Video Zone YouTube search screen are ghosts of buttons only usable from the YouTube website, such as full screen view, and “Watch Later” (the latter requires logging in to YouTube). However, a click on the screen’s “YouTube” button navigates to the YouTube website.

A toolbar with lots of functions takes skill to manage.

Rule 1: OBSERVE THIS WARNING: Do not install ANY toolbar if you will be inconvenienced by pauses and hesitations of your search screen. Typically, a toolbar will slow down operation of a browser while the toolbar organizes and collects items before presenting them.

Rule 2: BE PREPARED FOR CHALLENGES: You should expect to manage:

  • toolbar buttons that precipitate pop-up screens (such as the Coupon Buddy “CB” button in Viral Tube)
    • Solution: RIGHT CLICK, select Toolbar Options, deselect Global Shopping App, scroll down to press OK.
    • Solution: Use or activate only when you are shopping and might need the coupons.
  • pop-ups
    • Solution: Learn which buttons allow pop-ups; avoid or deactivate.
    • Solution: If you are not too rushed, take a moment to absorb some surprising offers. (Take time to consider carefully.)
  • many choices
    • Solution: Hide (deselect) unused buttons.
    • Solution: Determine to stay on topic.
  • search techniques
    • Solution: Narrow your search.
    • Solution: Follow a search pattern; the toolbar will learn your preferences.
  • social sharing decisions
    • Solution: Check with recipients to see whether sharing is wanted.
    • Solution: Check in advance, when using the “My Friends’ Videos” button, to see which of your friends might have videos posted.

Rule 3: KEEP IN MIND THAT THE DESIGNERS INTENDED TO ENHANCE YOUR INTERNET EXPERIENCE: Don’t be afraid to experiment with a trusted toolbar.

Conduit, which is the toolbar platform on which Viral Tube is designed, does not endorse unethical use of its platform and is minimally invasive. Conduit toolbars are easily removed via your PC’s Control Panel, “Add or Remove Software,” once your need for the toolbar has passed.

It’s worth noting that the “Coupon Buddy” button provided on this toolbar was issued on the Conduit platform as a toolbar in its own right, and was extremely popular. Coupon Buddy was integrated into the Firefox and Bit Torrent browsers at one time. It is easily deactivated (RIGHT CLICK, Toolbar Options, uncheck), and may be activated when you need it.

Rule 4: YOU ARE NEVER FAR FROM YOUR FAVORITE SEARCH ENGINE: If you accepted the Viral Tube search engine as your default, when you installed the toolbar, you may change the default search engine at any time by typing another search engine address, above the toolbar (for example, www.google.com).

Why should I install the Viral Tube toolbar?

The Viral Tube toolbar, by its “Video Zone” button, presents YouTube videos in a simple and straightforward manner. Searching with the Video Zone search screen will make it easy for you to search from any website:

  • to learn Audacity by:
    • watching Audacity tutorials, and
    • accessing Audacity articles and YouTube videos through your search engine (for example, www.google.com) from within the video window without leaving a website, and
  • to share Audacity projects by:
    • uploading your own projects or tutorials to YouTube, and
    • sharing your YouTube Audacity finds with other audio enthusiasts through Facebook or email.

If you feel comfortable with its typical toolbar behaviors, you will learn a lot, enjoy the toolbar’s beautiful presentation of new experiences, and make some worthwhile discoveries with the Viral Tube toolbar.
